What Clients Say

A Selection of Reviews

I brought in my late father's Omega that had not run in twelve years. Harith walked me through everything he found before touching a single part. The watch now keeps time as it should, and I understand it far better than I did before. It was exactly the kind of experience I hoped to find but did not expect to.

The communication throughout the Movement Rebuild was exceptional. I received a written note after the initial inspection explaining what was found and what was recommended. Some smaller workshops simply tell you there's a problem and hand you an invoice. Tockwell gave me the information I needed to make my own choice. That matters to me.

A friend who collects seriously recommended Tockwell when I was looking for somewhere in Perak to have a vintage Longines rebuilt. The work took about two weeks, which is what I was told at the start. When I collected it, the timing result was documented on paper — something no other watchmaker has ever provided me. Impressive.

I sent in three watches for routine care visits across two years. Same quality of service each time, same honest conversation about what was needed. Roslina handled two of them and was clearly someone who enjoys the work — she was happy to explain what she observed in terms I could follow. Reliable in the best sense.

A Devotional Restoration for my grandfather's pocket watch. The scope of the project was carefully agreed before any work began, and photographs arrived at each stage of the process. I appreciated being included in the journey rather than just receiving the finished result. The watch now sits in the family properly restored, with a complete record of what was done.

A straightforward Routine Care Visit for my everyday watch, handled efficiently and returned exactly when expected. The watchmaker noted that the crown seal was showing early signs of wear and flagged it clearly, without pushing me to have it done that same day. I went back two months later when I was ready. Small thing, but it stays with me.

A 1966 Swiss Manual-Wind — Movement Rebuild

Client from Penang · Completed January 2025

The Situation

A collector brought in a 1966 Swiss manual-wind that had been running for several years without service. The watch was losing approximately two minutes daily and the crown had become stiff. The owner wanted the movement properly attended to before the condition worsened.

What Was Done

Full disassembly, ultrasonic cleaning, and component inspection. Several jewels were found dry of lubrication. The keyless work was cleaned and fresh grease applied. The mainspring was replaced. Reassembled and timed across six positions. Case cleaned and resealed.

The Outcome

Timing result: +3 seconds per day in the dial-up position after 48-hour observation. The stiffness in the crown was resolved. The owner reported twelve months later that it remained within acceptable tolerances and the crown operated normally.

A Family Pocket Watch — Devotional Restoration

Client from Subang Jaya · Completed February 2025

The Situation

A client brought in their late grandfather's pocket watch — a late 1920s piece that had been sitting in a drawer for decades. The movement had stopped, the dial was cracked, and the case showed significant corrosion on the back. The client wanted the watch restored as a family heirloom, not resold.

What Was Done

Extended consultation to agree scope. Full movement reconditioning. Period-correct replacement part sourced for a damaged lever. Dial professionally stabilised and hairline crack addressed with conservative treatment. Case corrosion treated and surface restored. Twelve weeks in total.

The Outcome

The movement runs reliably. The dial retains its patina and character. The client received a complete photographic record of the work from initial state through each restoration milestone. The watch now forms part of a family display.
