Our Services
Three Ways
to Care
Each service at Tockwell is designed to meet a different kind of need — from periodic upkeep to complete mechanical renewal to a profoundly personal restoration journey.

Our Approach to Every Service
Listen First
Every engagement begins with listening — to what the owner tells us about the watch, and to what the watch itself reveals when examined. We do not begin with assumptions.
Agree Before Acting
Every recommendation is discussed and agreed before work begins. Nothing is done without your knowledge, and scope is never extended without a fresh conversation.
Document Everything
Every piece receives a written record. For Devotional Restoration work, photographic documentation accompanies each milestone. You receive this record on collection.
Service One
Routine Care Visit
A gentle maintenance session for watches that are running well but due for periodic attention. Includes battery or power reserve assessment, gasket condition check, case back cleaning and resealing, and visual inspection of the dial, hands, and crown. The watchmaker will share observations about the watch's condition in plain terms, helping the owner make informed decisions about any further care. A comfortable option for maintaining a watch's wellbeing between major services.

Service Two
Movement Rebuild
A complete teardown and rebuilding of the watch movement with attention to every functional detail. All wheels, levers, and springs are removed, ultrasonically cleaned, inspected, and graded for continued service or replacement. The movement is rebuilt with measured lubrication and timed across six positions. The case is cleaned, polished if desired, and resealed with fresh gaskets. Crystal is replaced if damaged. The watch undergoes a forty-eight-hour accuracy observation before being returned. Intended for watches that have accumulated years of continuous wear and deserve a fresh start mechanically.

Service Three
Devotional Restoration
For watches that represent chapters of a life
A deeply personal and unhurried service for watches that the owner treasures beyond their market value. The process begins with an extended conversation about the piece — its history, significance, and the owner's vision for its future. Every aspect of the restoration is discussed and agreed upon in advance. Work may encompass full movement reconditioning, dial and hand conservation or sympathetic renewal, case and bracelet restoration, and period-correct parts sourcing. Photographic documentation is provided at each milestone.

Technical Standards
Consent at Every Stage
Nothing proceeds without your explicit agreement. Scope and cost are discussed before work begins, every time.
Secure Custody
Every piece in our care is logged, tracked, and held in a secure workshop environment. No piece is unaccounted for.
Written Service Records
Every service is documented in writing. The record travels with your watch and is provided to you on collection.
Watchmaker, Not Technician
All work is performed by formally trained watchmakers. Your piece is not handed to a junior or an assistant for the difficult parts.
Not Sure Where to Begin?
Tell us about your watch — its age, make, and what you have noticed. We will offer a considered view on where to start, without any pressure.
